Supreme Court Justice
Christopher Walken
As told – and experienced – by my wife:
So Annie and I were at Tapes n Tapes at First Ave. Ruth Bader Ginsburg had had heart surgery that day and we were FLOORED when Josh Grier, the lead singer, was wearing a Ruth Bader Ginsburg t-shirt on stage. We were lukewarm about going to the show in the first place but instantly fell in love with the band after their heartfelt nod to the Supreme Court Justice. For the entire show we looked dreamy eyed at Josh who must listen to All Things Considered – JUST LIKE US.
There were these two idiot guys standing in front of us who kept talking about the awesome Christopher Walken t-shirt that Josh was wearing – OMG they were so dumb for not knowing Ruth Bader Ginsburg! Annie and I talked loudly (c’mon,we had had a couple of those huge Red Stripes) about how sad it was that people weren’t as smart as us and how much we hoped for Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s quick recovery. Josh became sexier as the night wore on as we fantasized about him getting ready on the tour bus – how his favorite quirky t-shirt finally made sense.
When the house lights came on and the band waved their goodbyes, Annie and I looked at each other and said, “that is a cool Christopher Walken t-shirt”.
